The Faith That Saved Me
“Life ain’t been no crystal stair,” and my journey has been a reflection of that truth. As a mother of two daughters, Nyanna and Natalia, I’ve faced challenges that tested everything in me.
After slipping into a coma for seven days following the birth of my first daughter, I knew God had spared me for a purpose. That moment became the foundation of the faith, resilience, and intention that guide me to this day.
Purpose Found in Creativity
Losing my job felt like a setback, but it became the turning point I needed. With more time on my hands, I poured myself into a lifelong love for design. I launched a Facebook page—Exquisite Designs by Ms. Shon—and within a week, more than 2,500 people joined the community. Orders began coming in from across the country.
I used my gifts to serve, offering free obituary designs to families in need and mentoring students and collegiate women in leadership and entrepreneurship. Creativity became not just my passion, but my purpose.
Where Sisterhood Sparked a Vision
In 2010, I was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.—a pivotal moment that awakened a new calling. From that sisterhood, Sororitique was born.
From custom apparel to unique sorority accessories, every piece is created with care and intention, inspired by the culture, pride, and legacy of the Divine Nine.
Today, my daughters watch me build what I once only prayed for. And I hope they grow knowing that with faith, courage, and hard work, nothing is impossible.
